Tamara Coder Mikinski Tammy Coder Mikinski, Ph.D. is a Licensed Psychologist in Kansas and Missouri who holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kansas. She formerly served as the Director of the Counseling Center at Rockhurst University for 8 years. During that time, Dr. Mikinski specialized in issues relating to adolescents and college students and has been sought out for expert comment by national media covering teen issues. Upon her departure from Rockhurst in 2001, she was awarded an Honorary BSN by Research College of Nursing for her work with Nursing students – especially in the areas of test anxiety and exam preparation. In addition to working with adolescents, Dr. Mikinski enjoys collaborating with adults, couples, and families in therapy. She emphasizes strengths and helps clients find healthy solutions. Currently she teaches Counseling Psychology courses for the University of Kansas Department of Psychology and Research in Education as well as maintaining a clinical practice at the Sastun Center of Integrative Health Care.
William Hale, M.D. William Hale, M.D. has over 25 years of experience in psychiatry and mind-body medicine. In addition to his work with people who have psychiatric conditions, Dr. Hale’s practice also incorporates mind-body work with people who have physical illnesses such as hypertension, migraines, chronic pain, cancer and other conditions. He works with children, adults and elders using psychotherapy, medication, biofeedback and stress management techniques based on mindfulness meditation. He teaches intensive courses in Stress Management based on Mindfulness Meditation. Dr. Hale graduated from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and the Karl Menninger School of Psychiatry. He also completed a two-year training program at Menninger in Biofeedback and Psycho-physiologic Therapy. Under the auspices of a one year Fulbright Fellowship to India he studied Ayurvedic medicine, the traditional medicine of India. He also did an internship in Mindfulness Meditation-based Stress Management at the University of Massachusetts School of Medicine.
