Therapeutic Yoga is a slower paced type of yoga that emphasizes gentle postures that are structurally sequenced and repetitive. The goal is to strengthen and tone weak muscles while supporting the body through use of the breath. Yoga is not so much about stretching as it is about opening up to, and being aware of, what our bodies are showing us on a daily basis. This class is perfect for someone who wants a slower paced class with sequences designed to encourage safe movement of the upper back and neck as well as the lower back and hips. Yoga Level II
This class offers a variety of postures as well as the energetic vinyasa flow of yoga sequencing. Suitable for those who have taken a level I or beginner class and want to expand their practice with an emphasis on strength, flexibility and focus. Come join us for this yoga class appropriately placed in the day to provide a “yogic break” to those who want to refresh and renew over the lunch hour. No previous yoga experience is necessary. This class provides stretching and the variability of a slow ow class while working with the basic postures. Includes breathing linked with movement and a nice relaxation at the end. This class is guaranteed to be a mindful transition to the second part of your day.
Yoga Nidra is a systematic method of complete relaxation which addresses our physical, mental, neurological and subconscious needs. There is a part of Yoga Nidra which specifically allows you to develop and say your sankalpa, which is a short mental statement that becomes your resolution for your practice. When practiced during Yoga Nidra, your sankalpa is then impressed on the subconscious mind. During Yoga Nidra, the subconscious mind is more receptive and sensitive to auto suggestion. Since the subconscious mind is more receptive than the conscious, logical mind, whatever impressions you make with a sankalpa will help you in your life.
The experience of Yoga Nidra can vary from 20 min to 60 min. The relaxation is so profound that it is said 1 hour of Yoga Nidra is equal to 4 hours of sleep! Additionally, the benefits of Yoga Nidra include:
